Jordan, Corona, CA "I wish to go to Blizzard and have a level 80 character for World of Warcraft"
Jordan has always been a Blizzard World of Warcraft fan, but after being diagnosed with a brain tumor, the game took on a different meaning for him. He would play WoW to forget about his medical condition. Jordan felt empowered as his character, Dritzer, made it to each new level because he felt he finally had control over something in his life. As Jordan progressed in the game his tumor, unfortunately, also began to progress. His medical treatments made it more difficult for him to play WoW because his reactions became slower and he started having double-vision. For Jordan, his wish was to have his character “leveled up” to level 80 in the game so he could experience a new world.
When Jordan heard his wish day had arrived and he was going to the Blizzard campus, he was ecstatic! The day of his wish, he was so excited that he was up and ready at 5:30 in the morning. Once he arrived on the campus, Jordan met some of the game development team and even went on a special tour. Being at Blizzard and meeting the designers made him feel star struck.
On his wish day, Jordan’s mom sat back and watched her son enjoy his day. She said, “He’s been through so much that it really makes him happy to be here. There are not a lot of times lately when he’s been this happy. So, this makes me happy.” It is amazing how much hope, strength and joy a wish can bring.
