John, Yorba Linda, CA “I wish to meet the Dallas Cowboys”John’s passion for football helped him become the captain of his high school football team, but his career ended when he was diagnosed with leukemia. Although he could not play, his love for the game continued through his support of his all-time favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys. John has been a die-hard fan since he watched them win the Super Bowl in 1995. He immediately knew his wish was to meet the infamous Dallas Cowboys. John’s wish party was held at the ESPN Zone at Downtown Disney. The staff treated him like a VIP and made sure John and his family had an exceptional time. They all ate, watched the Cowboys’ game on multiple TV screens and eagerly talked about John’s upcoming trip. When John arrived in Texas, he was ready to meet his dream team at the stadium. Before the big game, John met all of the Dallas Cowboys, including his favorite players, Tony Romo and Terrell Owens. The Cowboys signed memorabilia, took pictures with John and discussed game plans. Right before game time, the family was escorted to the sidelines so they could watch the game with the pros. John had the time of his life attending his first live NFL game and meeting the Cowboys. The excitement and energy from the team and fans boosted his spirits.
