Ethan, Santa Ana, CA "I wish to have my VW Bus restored" “That’s not my car!” 15-year-old Ethan shouted when his wish came true at Downtown Disney. Ethan is an energetic teenage boy who is living with a kidney disease. Although he is living with this medical condition, he shares an interest with most teenage boys his age…cars! When asked about his most heartfelt wish, Ethan knew exactly what his wish would be; to have his VW Bus restored. Ethan’s wish day began at Downtown Disney where he was under the impression that he was simply going for the day to “hang out”. Little did he know that the Make-A-Wish team along with DUB Publishing was in place and ready to surprise him with his VW Bus! As Ethan walked along, he heard his name called by the Make-A-Wish staff. He was taken to a car with a large tarp draped over the top and was told to quickly pull it off. Underneath was his newly restored VW Bus. Ethan didn’t even recognize his car and couldn’t believe how amazing it looked. When asked about his wish, Ethan happily replied, ”The most memorable part was seeing all those people at Downtown Disney. They were all looking at me and taking pictures, and I was in awe the whole day! I just couldn’t believe it.
