Dylan, Westminster, CA
"I wish to be a sheriff"

Dylan is a 9 year-old boy who likes to color, read and dream about the future. When wish granters asked him about his one special wish he replied without hesitation, “I wish to be a sheriff for a day!”

On the morning of Dylan’s wish he was presented with a custom-made sheriff’s uniform with an honorary badge that made him a squad member. He had a big smile on his face when he arrived at the station where he was greeted by the entire staff. The department had many duties for Sherriff Dylan’s special day on the job. His first assignment was to drive around with his partner and give citations to traffic offenders. When Dylan was not busy handing out traffic violations, he was in awe of the buttons and gadgets inside. His special duty was to control the sirens and lights for the squad car.

After his ride along, Dylan enjoyed lunch with the Orange County Sheriff’s Department. Dylan’s day was full of adventure, but the highlight of his wish was taking a helicopter ride and looking over the city he patrolled.

Dylan and his family had an exciting day that they will remember forever. Dylan went home that night, happy and satisfied about a job well done. He then fell asleep and dreamt about the days when he was going to be a sheriff again.
