Wish Letter Thank You from Michael, "Wish to go to Disney World"
Dear Make-A-Wish Foundation,
One day when I was in the hospital before I started treatment for my brain cancer, a social worker had come to me with a question. She had asked me if I wanted to wish for anything and I told her that I was happy with what I have. Every few weeks or so, a nurse or social worker would approach me and ask what I will be wishing for. At one point, I was finally convinced that I should make a wish. I spoke with a social worker to sign me up for a wish. With the help of you and the foundation, I was able to go on a vacation with my family. Thank you for the wonderful vacation. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.
Before we received the news of my diagnosis, we went on a lot of vacations. Every year, we would go on a road trip to have some fun, or fly somewhere we had never been before. After I was diagnosed, the only trips that I would be taking were to go to Los Angeles to get a dose of chemo. This vacation was something I really needed to do to keep from thinking about the next doctor’s appointment, blood test, or MRI. It was as close to normal as it is going to get for now.
Thanks again for the gift,
Michael
